Terms of service

Last updated 21 September 2026

These terms are the agreement between you and PrivaSpace. By signing in, you accept them. PrivaSpace is a small, independently operated service — please read the sections on availability and backups in particular, because they matter more here than they would with a large provider.

1. Who may use PrivaSpace

You must be at least 16 years old and able to enter into a binding agreement. You must not use the service if you are barred from doing so under applicable law.

2. Your account

Accounts are created by signing in with Google. There is no separate password. You are responsible for keeping your Google account secure — anyone who can sign in to it can read and change everything in your wiki.

One person, one account. Do not share your account or let anyone else use it.

3. Your content belongs to you

You keep all rights to everything you write and upload. Using PrivaSpace does not transfer ownership of anything.

You grant a narrow, revocable licence to store, process and display your content solely for the purpose of providing the service back to you — for example, storing an article so it can be shown to you again, or indexing its text so your own search works. This licence exists only to make the service function, covers nothing else, and ends when you delete the content or your account.

Your content will not be published, shared, sold, used for advertising, or used to train machine learning models.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to use PrivaSpace to:

  • store or distribute anything unlawful, or anything you have no right to store
  • store malware, or content designed to damage or compromise any system
  • attempt to access another user’s account or content, or probe, scan or test the security of the service
  • circumvent account limits, or place automated, bulk or unreasonable load on the service
  • resell or provide the service to third parties

PrivaSpace does not routinely review what you store. Reports of abuse sent to privacy@privaspace.net will be investigated.

5. Account limits

Each account is currently subject to the following limits:

  • 5,000 articles
  • 500 MB of uploaded files in total
  • 10 MB per individual file

These limits exist to keep a free service sustainable and may change. Material reductions will be notified in advance.

6. Availability

PrivaSpace is provided free of charge and without any guarantee of uptime. It may be unavailable for maintenance, because of a fault, or because of a problem at one of the infrastructure providers it depends on.

Features may change or be removed. If the service is to be discontinued entirely, you will be given at least 30 days’ notice by email and an opportunity to retrieve your content.

7. Keep your own backups

Do not rely on PrivaSpace as the only copy of anything you cannot afford to lose. Reasonable care is taken, but this is a small service, no backup or recovery guarantee is offered, and data loss is possible. Keep your own copies of important material.

8. Suspension and termination

You may stop using PrivaSpace at any time, and can have your account and content deleted by emailing privacy@privaspace.net.

Your account may be suspended or terminated if you breach these terms, if required by law, or if your use threatens the stability or security of the service. Except where the breach is serious or unlawful, you will be given notice and a reasonable chance to put it right.

9. No warranty

PrivaSpace is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. It is not warranted that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that data will never be lost.

10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, PrivaSpace and its operator will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, nor for any loss of data, profits, revenue or goodwill, arising out of your use of or inability to use the service.

Because PrivaSpace is provided free of charge, total aggregate liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to 100 US dollars.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

11. Changes to these terms

These terms may be updated. If a change materially affects your rights, notice will be sent to the email address on your account before it takes effect. Continuing to use PrivaSpace after that point means you accept the revised terms.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of [YOUR STATE], United States, without regard to its conflict of law rules. If you are a consumer resident elsewhere, you keep the benefit of any mandatory protections of your local law.
